DAY TOUR - JINOTEGA $180 for 2 ($40 per person extra)

We take you on a fun packed activity, the Canopy La Brellera , an excellent place to zipline through the trees in this mountainous location in northern Nicaragua. There are nine platforms connected by eight cables and two hanging bridges, allowing participants to 'zip' from tree to tree. The distances (and speed!) will vary between the different ziplines, but this is certainly a thrilling experience, both for people who have never ziplined before as for people with experience.

You will visit a women's pottery cooperative in a small village called The San Expedito Cooperative. This is a women's cooperative of artisans dedicated to making traditional pre-columbian Nicaraguan black pottery, native to the Jinotega area. We will see the traditional black pottery production process, and you can try your hand at throwing a piece. As part of the region’s indigenous cultural heritage, their black pottery is all-natural, chemical free, and made completely by hand using traditional techniques and designs inherited from their ancestors.

We stop by Lake Apanás which was Nicaragua’s first artificial lake created by damming the Tuma River into the Apanas Valley. The lake is just outside of Jinotega and the forested area around the lake provides superb scenery and refuge for the many birds and other animals. When visiting the lake, is common to see fishermen in their wooden fishing boats.

This is fun day with a mix of adventure, culture and nature. Lunch is included as is a bilingual guide, private transport and all activity and entrance fees.
